Da’awah and Jihad Movement

In a Hadith in Sahih Muslim, the Prophet Muhammad (sallallaho alaihi wasallam), while pointing to an attribute of the believers, said:

“This religion will outline forever and for the sake of it, a class out of Muslims, will continue Jihad until the dawn of the Doomsday.”

Consider this saying of the Holy Prophet (sallallaho alaihi wasallam) and look at his practical life. He extended the teaching of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah and by means of Jihad he spread their light in the Arabian peninsula. By dint of this factor of Jihad he captured even Qaisar and Kisraa.

Keeping themselves on the same path the followers of the Holy Prophet (sallallaho alaihi wasallam) trampeled, under their feet, the two super powers of their time-Iranian fire-worshippers and Roman Christians. Hence, they raised the flag of the Qur'an and the Sunnah so high. As long as the Muslims kept themselves this way, they were successful and honour and distinction kept welcoming them. Conversely, when they detracted from this course, they faced a decline. Even in such a critical period, whenever they adopted the way of Jihad Allah Almighty instantly came to their assistance.

Imam Ibn-e-Taimiya was a preacher of the Qur'an and the Sunnah. It was he who induced the Muslims to wage Jihad when it was occasioned against the Tatars. It was He himself picked up the sword and stepped in the battlefield as well. Sheikh-al-Islam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab preached the people himself while giving the sword to Mohammad bin Masud. The Arabian island once again glittered with the light of the Oneness of Allah (Tawheed).

Shah Ismail Shaheed got forward raising the flag of Jihad and establishing the rule of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah. The tree he planted remained flourishing in one from or the other until the advent of Pakistan Movement.

Maulana Fazl-e-Elahi was the last flower of this plant, who had waged jihad in Kashmir. It is all due to the auspiciousness of Jihad that today a part of Kashmir is independent. When the Russian Communists invaded Afghanistan Sheikh Jamil-ur-Rehman commenced Jihad in KUNR province and established the Islamic Emirate. Maulana Ibrahim and Maulana Mohammad Efzal fought in compliance with of the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah. As an outcome, the Russians were the first who fled these two areas. The believers are fighitng in Badakhshan too. The Arabian young men bearing the Qur'an and the Sunnah reached Afghanistan and participated in the Islamic War along with various organizations.

It was in 1980 that the first Pakistani named Abdul Qahhar, left for Jihad in Afghanistan. Then in 1982, a student named Zaki-ur-Rehman from Jamia Mohammadia Gujranwala went to take Pakistan Jihad in the PIKTIA province. He continued visiting Nuristan and showed the people the path of Jihad.

Professor Hafiz Mohammad Saeed and Professor Zafar Iqbal who were loudly proclaiming the commands of the Qur'an and the Sunnah and who had won the hearts of the youth not only did they encourage the young participants of Jihad but also initiated extending this movement throughout the country. Accordingly, the brothers gathered and in 1989, Markaz Ad-Da'awa Wal Irshad was established,. This caravan of Da’wah and Jihad, thus started its journey towards its destination under the guidance of Professor Mohammad Saeed.
