Steady Growth
2000
was the Resource Center’s 13th consecutive year with a positive fund
balance. This is remarkable, considering the budget’s enormous growth
over the last decade. In 2000, we met our budget of $840,000 and earned
more than $100,000 in grants toward the 2001 budget, bringing our total
revenue for the year to $964,000, nearly double the 1999 level. This
growth could not have been sustained without prudent management, steady
and successful fundraising, and consistent support from thousands of
individuals as well as dozens of foundations and corporate supporters. We
thank everyone who has been part of this success.
Perhaps
most striking about our revenue is the diversity of sources: earned
income, grants, individual donations (including memberships) and special
events. The earned-income sources include our bookstore, café,
community-education classes, workshops and speaking engagements.
Remarkable too is a steady increase in individual donations.
