urges govt to change Afghan policy
LAHORE, Oct 14 : Professor Hafiz Saeed Ahmad, Amir Markaz Ad-Dawa
Wal Irshad here Sunday has urged President Pervez Musharraf to
change the prevailing Afghan Policy in order to extricate the
country from crisis.
Addressing a public meeting under Ahle- Hadith Majlis Ammal in
Lahore he warned that Pakistan's integrity is under potent threat
and if no unifying efforts are made jointly by government and
people, nation will not be able to withstand the looming threat.
The only way out is that General Musharraf should take the people
into confidence and change his Afghan Policy, he added.
He cautioned if president Musharraf or any one traded over Kashmir
with Collin Powell, the nation would not accept it. Jihad will
continue in Kashmir and Afghanistan, he announced.
Speaking on the occasion chairman AHMA, Professor Sajid Mir
appealed to Muslim world to get united and resist Israel and
Zionists in their bids to target Muslim countries.
Delivering his speech, Maulana Moin-ud-Din Lakhnavi regretted that
Muslims from across the world are with Taliban forces while the
rulers are hell bent to convince that they are beside UK and US.
The rulers should seek guidance from the Holy Quran, he urged.

Jacobabad during violent clashes
JACOBABAD, Oct 14 : 2 religious activists were killed Sunday while
11 injured, two of them seriously, when violent clashes broke out
between hundreds of protesters trying to siege the Shahbaz air base
and law enforcing agencies. The injured also include two officials
of Rangers.
The incident sent shock waves whereas public and private property
was set on fire in different areas as angry demonstrators belonging
to Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam rampaged through the city. Call for the
cordon of Shahbaz air base which is located close to Jacobabad air
port was given by JUI over reports suggesting that the base has been
handed over to US forces for launching strikes on Afghanistan, a
charge repeatedly denied by the government.
Details suggest that all entry and exit points of the city were
sealed during the night between Saturday and Sunday while heavily
armed contingents of army, police and rangers were deployed at all
parts of the city which displayed a curfew-like situation due to
complete strike.
A group of radical Islamic forces equipped with sticks poured into
the city by breaking security barricades of the paramilitary forces
from various places. Chanting provocative slogans against the
government and America, hundreds of emotionally charged rioters
marched towards the air base when met with ruthless baton charge and
tear gassing by rangers.
The demonstrators retaliated by pelting stones on the contingent
which resorted to indiscriminate firing. A number of private
vehicles and small hotels located along the road also suffered
damages during the clash. A JUI activist Mukhtar Ahmed Khoso and an
unidentified man died on the spot while 11 others including Hafiz
Muhammad Murad, Shakeel Ahmed, Munawwar, Ghulam Yasin, Abdul Hayee
and Munir got wounded and shifted to nearby hospitals.
Later, the demonstrators staged a sit in besides the corpse of one
of the deceased protester that led to further skirmishes and
encounters. Series of violence continued till filing of latest
reports but rangers troops were called off by the administration
from the troubled area.

ISLAMABAD, Oct.12 . The Ameer of Markaz
Dawah wal Irshad, Prof. Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, on Friday pledged
total support to Afghanistan and said the Muslims all over the world
were ready to face every challenge from America. Delivering his
Friday address at the congregational prayers in Salgi Masjid in H-8
area, he said that it was obligatory for the entire Ummah to support
the oppressed Afghans against the US. He counseled the Muslim rulers
to review their policies following the bombardment of US led forces
on Afghanistan. This is in fact, an attack on Islam, he asserted. He
warned the Muslim rulers that they would not be able to secure their
rule merely by toeing the US line. He said that the enemies of Islam
had pooled their might and resources to defeat Islamic forces and
the Muslim rulers would be wise to rise for the sake of their faith
instead of running after power He also advised the people to refrain
from vandalism in protest against the government Afghan policy and
instead join Jihadic forces at this critical juncture. Hafiz
Muhammad Saeed visualized crushing defeat for the US at the hands of
brave Afghans. He also dismissed the possibility of Indian attack on
Pakistan or Azad Kashmir saying that Indian forces were already
entrenched deeply in Held Kashmir and they could not dare to launch
such an attack.
The
Markz al Daawa chief paid tributes to the Afghan people for giving
protection to Osama bin Ladin in line with golden Islamic
traditions. He said the day was not far when US would have to
suffer a rushing defeat like the Soviet Union.
He said that US
President George W. Bush had spoken the truth while reacting to the
September 11 attacks on World Trade Centre and Pentagon that the
Crusades had begun. For a fortnight after these attacks, the
American and British strategists planned the attacks on Afghanistan
but their plans had met total failure and there was large scale
criticism on this policy from the public circles who thought that
the entire planning had been made in haste. He said it was an open
attack on Islam and the Muslims in different countries including
Kashmir, Bosnia, Chechnya, the Philippine, Eritrea, would take up
arms in the defence of their faith. Hafiz Saeed said till yesterday,
our rulers had been hoping that the US would not attack Afghanistan
and were givens all kinds of assurances to Washington. However, the
US and its allies were bombing major Afghanistan cities with the
clear cut intention to eliminate Islam,. It was high time, he said,
for the Muslim rulers to review their policies and stop running
after power. He reminded the rulers that it is Allah Almighty alone
who bestows honor or rule on any one. It is the Sunnah of Allah
Almighty, he said to bestow power on a person who is sincere to His
Deen and offers sacrifices for this cause. Hafiz Saeed said that
the Muslim rulers might be the slaves of the US, but the Muslim
masses were not. The masses were fully with the Afghans. He
challenged the view that only a handful of Pakistanis were with the
Afghans. “I believe that every Muslim who has even the minimum faith
in his heart, is with the Afghans”, said Hafiz Saeed. Referring to
the US assertions that after eliminating terrorism in Afghanistan,
it would also wipe out terrorism in Kashmir, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed
said the Americans were gravely mistaken. Russia too had made such
claims but the fate they had to meet in Soviet Union, was altogether
different.
He advised the
people not to indulge in vandalism or causing damage to property,
etc. adding that such activities would not in any way, give support
to Jihad.
Troops form bunkers
after vacating houses around Jacobabad air base
JACOBABAD, Oct 11 : Paramilitary forces including police and
rangers have formed check posts around Jacobabad air base while
army has formed bunkers after vacating houses in adjoining areas.
Hundreds of residents of the locality have been ordered to shift
to some other places and troops are seen throughout the city.
Business activities have suffered a great deal owing to the
prevailing uncertainty.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that US marines are present inside the
air base however no American planes have been so far. C-130s of
Pakistan Army are seen frequently landing and flying from the air
base.
Pakistan allows US
forces to use 2 of its airports
LONDON, Oct 10 : Pakistan on Wednesday allowed US warplanes to use
two of its airports in Sindh and Blouchistan.
According to BBC, airports of Jacobabad in Sindh and Pasni in
Balouchistan have been allowed for use by US coalition forces.
However quoting senior Pakistan officials the report said that both
of the airports were to be used for recovery proposes or in case of
any emergency. Moreover, American planes would be able to land on
these airports in case of providing medical assistance or back up
support to US soldiers.
It said that officials had clarified none of the airport was to be
allowed for conducting raids on Afghanistan.
In the meanwhile, BBC has reported that several persons were injured
due to exchange of fires between Taliban forces and Pakistan Army at
Pak-Afghan Border. No official statements as yet were issued in this
regard.

Lashkar-e-Taiba kill 9 Indian troops in Doda
Monday, October
01, 2001. Srinagar: The Lashkar e Taiba Mujahideen killed nine
Indian soldiers including one Major in two activities on Sunday
One Mujahid was martyred in the clashes.
The
LT Mujahideen were hiding in a Jungle in Gonthal area of Tehsil
Thathr, Doda district when the Indian army got a tip of their
presence. Heavy army strength cordoned off the jungle and opened
intense firing. The Mujahideen took positions and returned firing
while attempting to break the enemy cordon. The two sides
exchanged firing for nearly two hours during which five Indian
troops including one Major were killed The Mujahideen were
successful in breaking the cordon . Meanwhile an Indian helicopter
flew into the area to lift the bodies of the killed. The
Mujahideen spotted the flying machine and opened firing on it with
mortars and machineguns. The helicopter immediately made off from
the scene sensing danger without lifting the dead bodies of the
killed soldiers.
Another group of
the LT Mujahideen was on its way to its destination in Manchalpura
village of RafiAbad in Baraamula when they came across a Rashtria
Rifles company. The two sides exchanged firing for about one hour
during which four enemy soldiers were killed and five others
sustained serious injuries. One LT Mujahid was also martyred in
the clash. Following the clash, the enemy intensified its search
to track down the freedom fighters.
