Wash. Terrorist Aids Feds in Moussaoui Indictment
By AP Staff
The Seattle Times reported Friday that Ahmed Ressam provided information that helped indict Zacarias Moussaoui in the national terrorism probe.
The newspaper said in a copyrighted story that Ressam identified Moussaoui as having been in the same Al-Qaida training camp in Afghanistan. Moussaoui has been indicted in connection with the Sept. 11 attacks.
Ressam is the terrorist who was caught two years ago Friday in Port Angeles, Wash. with explosives in his car. He was convicted of a millennium plot to bomb the Los Angelos airport.
His cooperation with prosecutors has led to charges against three other men, in addition to Moussaoui.
Defense lawyer Thomas Hillier said Ressam expects a lower sentence because of his cooperation. He had faced sentence of up to 130 years in prison with a 27-year minimum.
