United States Service Academy Nominations

The Academies

Attending any of the United States Service Academies is a great honor and a great responsibility. Continuing your education at one of the academies allows you to serve our Nation, a true challenge and privilege. There are five service academies in the United States that offer young men and women superior quality education while preparing them for an officer's commission in the armed forces. The Air Force Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy, the Military Academy, and the Naval Academy all require a nomination from an authorized nominating source. The Coast Guard Academy is the only one of the armed forces service academies that offers appointments on the basis of an annual nationwide competition; therefore no Congressional nominations are available.

Congresswoman Napolitano’s Academy Nights

During the Fall Semester, Congresswoman Napolitano hosts Military Academy information sessions at high schools within the district.  This informative session provides all students interested in pursuing a nomination to one of the four service academies with the proper orientation and guidance necessary to begin the nomination process with Congresswoman Napolitano’s office.  Representatives from each service academy and Congresswoman Napolitano’s staff will be available to discuss the application process and answer any questions students may have regarding the service academies.
