Mark Green's Accomplishments

Standing on a record of success…

Tax Relief

During his second term in Congress, Mark Green co-sponsored the most sweeping tax relief measure in a generation.  Including an across-the-board income tax rate reduction, doubling of the Child Tax Credit, and repeal of the marriage penalty and death tax, this tax relief package will allow American families to keep more of the money they earn and has helped get our economy back on track.

Health Care

Mark Green believes we need to provide a better health care “safety net” for American families.  That’s why he recently supported a new prescription drug benefit for seniors, as well as a “Patient’s Bill of Rights” to ensure American health care consumers are protected.

Education

Mark Green was a strong proponent of the “No Child Left Behind” Act, an education reform measure that focuses federal education policies on higher standards for American schools, coupled with greater local flexibility, to give our kids the best education in the world.

Faith-Based Change

Mark Green emerged as one of the key leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives in the fight over President Bush’s new “Faith-Based Initiative.”  Mark believes the proposal, which would allow government to work together with faith-based organizations to tackle common goals such as poverty reduction, will help improve our troubled communities and the lives of those who live and work in them.
