The Libertarian party is a political party.
It does not espouse any particular morality or ethics,
but rather espouses the political philosophy
of freedom and the non-initiation of force.
The Libertarian Party holds that in a proper society,
no person or group of people has the right to
initiate force upon another.
This applies to the government as well,
making the only legitimate activity of government the protection of
individual rights.
The government has no business interfering in personal choices
or regulating activities which do not involve the use of force.
The Libertarian Party advocates a political philosophy, not a particular ethical philosphy
My support for the Libertarian party and their minimalist approach to government
does not mean that I endorse moral relativism
-- the view that all morality is relative, that one view of morality is just as good an another.
The government has no say as to what's right or wrong so long as an activity does not involve the use of force,
but that is not to say that there is no right or wrong.
I reject moral relativism, but that doesn't mean that I feel compelled to try to use the government as a tool to
impose my interpretation of morality.
One should use reason and persuasion, not force and oppression via government statism.
